At some time or other you will have had a client that has asked you to carry out a commission that involved techniques not used in your workshop, such as figures or pieces painted with enamels, grisaille or silver stain. At this point you may have tried to interest the client in techniques that are more at home with you, with the result that they have been dissatisfied or you may have passed them on to a colleague, thus losing an opportunity.
As of now, this need no longer succeed, because we can help you carry out this project. For it to function you only need to follow some simple steps in which you would be guided by us, even though you are thousands of miles away.

Let us imagine that the client asks you to make a stained glass panel that includes a figure (eg a panel with a religious subject for a church, or a panel for a restaurant). The client may already have a design or ask you to make one, giving you important references such as posture, colours, size and shape, etc). If you are not happy designing a figure, our studio can realise the sketch for you according to the client's requirements. We send you the sketch (via email or airmail) and you show it to the client. Once the sketch has been approved, you send us the exact size of the frame (we would also guide you with how to do this). Once we have the exact measurements our painters will execute a cartoon in natural scale on paper (exact size of the project) and a sheet of tracing paper indicating the lines where the various cuts should be made.

At this stage you have two possibilities: we can cut all glass, including the background that is not painted, or we can cut only the glass that makes up the figure/s and leave you to cut the background. We will paint all pieces that make up the figure/s and send them to you, safely packed. We have developed a method of packaging that allows us to expedite the pieces safely, without breakage and with little cost - the small painted pieces weigh much less than a finished, leaded panel.

Once the pieces arrive in your workshop, you have but to lead them and your stained glass is ready for installation.

The advantages are enormous for both of us. Say you live in New Zealand or the middle of the USA - we have the opportunity to execute a commission that would not have come to our notice because of the distances involved. Even if we were asked to do the job ourselves, it would involve a long and costly trip to take measurements and once the panel is finished, the trip to install it. The advantages are notable also in the cost of transport. When we ship a series of leaded panels these have to be packed in a rigid wooden case to avoid breakages - shipping the small painted pieces without lead, thanks to our system of packaging, enormously reduces the weight as they can be packed in cardboard.

The advantages for you are instead that of adding another arrow to your bow, giving yourself the opportunity to carry out works that are technically very sophisticated and which few studios are able to execute. Now you can also go in search of these more complicated commissions with the certainty of being able to offer a top range product from the artistic/technical point of view.

WE BOTH WIN !!
